GREGORY ZIOMEK
Born and raised in Chicago. Catholic school educated through high school. Played the first “guitar” Mass (solo) at St. James Parish at age 12.
- Northwestern University – 2 years Speech Education (no degree)
- Cal State LA – Bachelor’s Degree (BM) in Jazz Studies on Guitar
- Cal State LA – Master’s Degree (MM) in Composition and Arranging on piano
15 years experience in musical comedy playing roles such as Harold Hill in the Music Man, Tony in West Side Story, and Baxter in Promises, Promises.
21 years experience as a singer, bass player and guitar player in various rock bands in LA, performing at legendary clubs such as The Troubadour, The Whiskey, Coconut Teaser, and Gazzari’s.
Taught general music at St. Bernard School for 12 years. Taught and accompanied the choir at La Salle High School for 4 years. With this gig, played Mass at the Cathedral of the Angels for La Salle HS 50 year anniversary. Currently in fourth year at HFHSCP.
Coached baseball and basketball at various park districts while my sons were growing up. Coached JV baseball at Cathedral HS. Coached varsity softball as an assistant at Mayfield and San Marino HS. Coached basketball at St. Bernard School for 11 years. Currently the head coach of the varsity basketball team at Waverly School in Pasadena. Currently the head coach of varsity softball at HFHS.
