JOSEPH KIM
Mr. Joseph Kim is entering into his third year as faculty at Holy Family High School College Preparatory, where he teaches the Introduction to Catholicism and Church History classes. Mr. Kim’s background allows him to bring with him a wealth of knowledge, fresh perspective and innovation in the field of Theology, particularly in Youth Ministry. Having graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Media Arts and Animation from the Art Institute of California, Mr. Kim worked as a commercial animator for a prestigious art studio in Santa Monica for five years. There he worked on commercials for high-profile companies such as M&Ms, United Airlines, Hershey’s, McDonald’s and more. While at the studio, he continued to develop skills in other areas of commercial art such as graphic and web design. During this time, Mr. Kim also worked as a Youth Minister at his local parish, continuing to receive CCD certification and training. He has now served as a High School Youth Minister and Confirmation Coordinator for the past six years, directing numerous Spiritual Retreats, Summer Camps and Staff Development training workshops. Mr. Kim also serves as the school’s Technology Specialist and Librarian. In his spare time, Mr. Kim enjoys reading, cinema, exercise, music, prayer, continuing to expand his education through the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ Advanced Catechetical Ministries Credential Program, and running his own Christian graphic apparel line called PAL Campaign.
