MATH/SCI/TECH

Mathematics Department Philosophy

The understanding and knowledge of mathematics and its applications have become more valuable in our technologically advanced society. By studying mathematics, the student will increase her ability to think critically in order to solve life’s mathematical and non-mathematical problems in a logical, rational manner. We want her to be a more intelligent consumer, to have more job opportunities, and to posses the basis for expanding her knowledge of any of the sciences. We give the young women the background for success in careers varying from office manager to social scientist to engineer. An appreciation for math in instilled in students, as they become critical problem solvers of the next generation.

Science Department Philosophy

The Holy Family Science Department works to awaken in the students a curiosity about the world around them and a sense of social and spiritual responsibility toward it. To succeed in meeting the challenges facing students today, the science department provides students with intellectual tools that prepare them for success in college and the world beyond. This curriculum prepares the student to become a scientifically literate citizen in our culturally diverse world.

Technology Department Philosophy

Technology affects virtually all aspects of modern life. As a college preparatory school, we strive to enable the student to learn how to take advantage of the available information technologies in order to succeed in the academic setting as well as in the world in general. The aim is to make a difference in one’s area of responsibility, applying knowledge and skills appropriately, and reflecting Christian values and beliefs.
