Free Electronic Journals – A collection of (mainly) free journals in the areas of humanities, social sciences and general science from Leiden University.
Google Scholar (beta) “Google Scholar enables you to search specifically for scholarly literature, including peer-reviewed papers, theses, books, preprints, abstracts and technical reports from all broad areas of research.” CAVEAT: results include some links that take you to the publisher’s web page, and then ask for a fee to provide the item. Make sure you fully exploit our databases first. You may be able to get the same item for free.
JURN – Articles from the Directory of Open Access Journals and the Intute: Arts & Humanities website, 13 fine arts magazines and full-text proceedings from conference proceedings.
LivRe: Portal to Free Access Journals – Directory of more than 2,500 free access electronic journals. Journals are listed by subject and cover a broad range of the physical sciences, biological sciences, and the humanities.
National Academies – From the U.S. National Academy of Sciences, National Academy of Engineering, Institute of Medicine, and the National Research Council; links to free full-text of thousands of e-books, as well as journals, news articles and other publications.

Open J-Gate – “Provides seamless access to millions of journal articles available online. Open J-Gate is also a database of journal literature, indexed from 3000+ open access journals, with links to full text at Publisher sites.”
