CLASS OF 1959

On June 5, 2009 the Class of 1959 held a 50 year reunion luncheon. Our time was spent in the garden of a lovely old home converted into “Wellness Works”, our classmate Mary Lu Coughlin’s place of business, located in Glendale not far from school. We spent the afternoon renewing our teenage abilities to “squeal” when we first laid eyes on each other after so many years. It took a few hours just to catch up on each others lives and marvel at how beautifully we all have aged! No one could believe that 50 years have passed by.
As evening approached, we proceeded to Church where we were very proud to accept our Golden Diplomas during the 2009 graduation ceremony. A nostalgic feeling really hit us as we walked from church to school, how many times had we made that same walk during our four years at Holy Family. We converged on the auditorium remembering all the fun times we spent in that room…it did look smaller than we remembered, but no less meaningful for us to be there again. Dr Purghart graciously conducted a tour through the classrooms and the grounds rekindling many thoughts and experiences for each one of us.
Taking the liberty to speak on behalf of our class, we would like to thank the principal and her staff for a wonderful evening. Also, we would like to send greetings to any of the Sisters who taught us during our four years at Holy Family, you did a good job!!!
Our experiences that day will become another cherished memory for us and we look forward to getting together on our 55th anniversary in 2014.
