KEY CLUB- DIVISION 3/SHARKEYS

Key Club is an international club under the California-Nevada-Hawaii Kiwanis Organization. Our club is devoted to service projects to help out our community. We are a part of Region 7 district under Division 3 and our division includes 16 other schools. We treat each school like family and hold monthly events with them to promote goodness to the community.

Key Club members are the most energetic people you will meet and they always guarantee fun. Some future events to look forward to are Fall Rally at Six Flags, Glendale Kiwanis Duck Walk 2011, and Aids Walk 2011. So come and witness all the fun by joining HFHSCP’s Key Club!

Motto: “Caring is our way of life!”

Mission: Student-led organization providing its members with opportunities to perform service, build character, and develop leadership

Vision: To develop competent, capable, and caring leaders through the vehicle of service

OTHER VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:

Ronald Mc Donald House located on 4560 Fountain AvenueLos Angeles, California 90029. For more information check out: www.larmh.org/volunteer.php
Here are descriptions of the different things we can do at Ronald McDonaldHouse
Activity Groups –
The volunteers will lead recreational activities in and out of the house. (e.g., birthday parties, holiday events, arts/crafts, cooking, visits to sporting events / cultural institutions / landmarks, so that there is a good mix of in-house and out-of-house activities and events every day. Lead a discussion group on music, drama, literature, or the arts. Stage a play; host a singing group, clowns, magic shows, or whatever fun activity or event you may think of. Become a Foreign Language Volunteer teaching English or another language. Assist with cooking and serving meals / snacks. Organize a group from your office, religious institution, school to host a special program for the families.
Caring Kitchen Volunteers –
Help make our kitchen warm and welcoming! Our kitchen, probably just like yours, is the one place in the House where everyone gathers, therefore, it requires a lot of love and care. We need volunteers who will assist in our kitchen and dining room area by visiting with families, making fresh coffee, organizing and tidying the kitchen and pantry, and orienting groups providing dinner for our families.
Special Events Volunteer –
Help at one of our annual fundraisers or special events. The Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House’s Walk for Kids and MacTonight events are designed to raise funds for the services and programs provided at the House. Help us to make our events a success!
Happy Meal Program –
Families often spend all day at the hospital and when they return to the House, have no energy to make dinner. Our Family Meal Program allows volunteers to give families a night off by preparing dinner, sharing a meal and cleaning up afterward. The children love meeting new people, and the parents appreciate the chance to relax and enjoy the meal—with no dishes to do!

Volunteer one at a time…
Or as many times as you’d like!
Kids 16 years-old and older are welcome.
Younger children can also volunteer with certain restrictions.
